College Admission!!!

It's official! Ben is accepted and deposit paid at MSU. Go Spartans!!! The best part is that his fabulous English teacher made the essay and application a course requirement - that is, mom didn't have to be the nag. The way life should be, indeed. Onward to June 10 graduation, MSU orientation June 17.

Senior Pictures!!!

So, who'd of thunk it?! Ben is soon to turn 18 and Senior Year is off and running. The first week of school found him dropping a class with a hostile teacher and working with a favorite teacher to create an independent study course - literature, writing and completing college applications will all be requirements. Woohoo, less nagging for the mom and dad to do! His favorite art teacher generously came to Kalamazoo today and took a day out of her new retirement to take Senior Photos with Ben and Steve. We had a great time at both locations, Kalamazoo College and Kalamazoo Central. K College is a nice tie since that's where we lived when Ben was born. K Central is now and worked for both Ben and Steve.
Time flies. I'm full of pride at who Ben is and full of emotion at the lightning speed of the days. And, yes, that is all North Face in Green and Gray, he's willing to consider a rep contract. . .
Michigan weather is clear gorgeous September, apple picking and maybe a stroll by the Big Lake tomorrow. Life is Good!!!

End of day one BTW for EKG

So, it's 5:15 and I'm wrapping up my first day back at work. Have to say it was easier to come back with the energy and memories of our amazing week together in Camp Ellis providing fuel and inspiration. Didn't hurt to have Marty, Abby and Rhianna show up at my window at 3 to kidnap me for a quick Plainwell Ice Cream break.
Thanks to Geo for posting the pictures. I'm updating my phone, so I'll be able to add the Blackberry photos soon.
Enjoying the days with Rhianna and looking forward to seeing CB when she makes her way to Michigan later this week.
Geo and Pam - we are realizing we have different spring break than B and A, any chance of a spring adventure together?

A Five-Star Week

A couple of new babies have graced the house. It truly has been a 5-star week. A little hiking in Acadia National Park (Precipice Trail) completed the journey of the coast. Take the time to enjoy what is around us. You'll be suprised where and when you will find it!
